Retinal Photography

A new, highly sophisticated camera now enables us to provide a more thorough retinal analysis of your eyes. This is painless and enables the doctor to see your retina in great detail. This method is an excellent reference point from which your doctor may make future comparisons.

Retinal photography, also known as fundus photography, can assist us in the early detection of retinal problems such as Retinal detachment, holes in the retina or thinning of the retina. It can also detect optic nerve disease, pre-cancerous lesions, macular degeneration, hypertensive retinopathy, diabetic retinopathy, and symptoms of glaucoma.

We strongly recommend that all of our patients recieve this test. It is especially important for all people over 35 as well as for those patients who have a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, retinal problems, headaches, floaters, flashing light streaks, or strong prescription for their glasses.
